I am a trained classical Master Sculptor, teacher, and an award-winning author since 1996. I studied 5 years of classical human anatomy and sculpture training, and two years of stone carving under the tutelage of Master sculptor, Harriet Moore, in San Francisco, CA. In addition, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Marketing from San Francisco State University, and a California Real Estate Brokers license. I have been teaching ”Classical Sculpture” since 1996. My class has been voted Best Independent Classical Sculpture Class in the Bay Area.

My work has garnished Best in Show, Memorable mentions, National equine competition awards, National Sculpture Society award, Best in Show at the National Rodeo Show in SF at various occasions, etc. My work has been exhibited in over 20 galleries throughout my career within USA and in Europe. I was the Project Manager responsible of creating a 35' long Mutant Vehicle completely disguised as a huge cuttlefish with moving parts and radical illumination for Burning Man 2022-2023.

I'm a member of many sculpture groups and societies honoring the classical sculpture style. I've curated many solo art shows, and I have also organized group shows representing the best Bay Area artists depicting the Human figure and Horses.

I offer custom-made, one-of-a-kind, private sculpture commissions for the most discriminating art collector who wishes to own an exclusive sculpture honoring a loved one, or desiring to collect a unique sculpture made to fit their home or outdoors space. No size is too small or too big, & I  work under your predetermined budged. You would become the sole owner of this valuable artwork, a cherished family heirloom. I have stellar recommendations and testimonials upon request. Please click on "Private Commissions" for details.

I am an Award-winning author of “An Artist's Guide, Proportions and Measurement of the Skeletal System" sponsored by the Latino International Book Award in 2014.  I’ve been invited to share several live sculpture demonstrations at the prestigious Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco, CA. I have been teaching human and horse anatomy sculpture classes to adults since 1996, at Waldorf High school in San Francisco since 2007, and children's sculpture classes since 2010.  I'm working on my second book on how to sculpt the human head and creating Youtube videos on tips on human proportions and anatomy, and how to become a better sculptor. I offer Zoom lessons for the far away students wishing to step up the quality of their work.

I'm proud to say, I only cast in the USA. I want to assure my collectors they are getting the best quality bronze possible. I also keep my work under a small Limited edition of only 9. All my work is accompanied by a "Certificate of Authenticity" signed by me to insure its authenticity.

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or requests. I love creating private commissions for the most discriminating art collectors.

Cheers!

Professional Testimonials

"The first time I visited Marilyn's studio I was stunned by the body of work displayed ... bronze cast figures and running horse each greeting me with intensity and power. Truly delightful work."
Renee M. Baldocchi - Public Programs and Docent Council Coordinator for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, CA

"About Marilyn ... her carvings are reminiscent of Rodin but more sensitive, more tender, more fluid and lyrical ... they contain a marvelous and truly touching sense of pure spirit that she so ingeniously infuses into what was, before, mere innate matter."   Muldoon Elder - Vorpal Gallery Owner, San Francisco, CA

"Marilyn produces beautiful and carefully executed sculptures, full of movement, muscles flexing, even when still."
Elisabeth Cornu- Objects Conservator - Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, CA

"In the five years of sculpture studies with me she learned and developed extraordinarily quickly. She grasped the basic fundamental of anatomy and design of the figure and now has added her own style, imagination, and originality."
Harriet Moore - International Master Sculptor, San Francisco, CA

"This is the best work I've seen since Rodin. You are special. I am truly humbled. Your work is so alive with passion... Exquisite."
G. King, Sculptor, Sacramento, CA
