Marilyn Ines Rodriguez is a professionally trained classical sculptor and teacher whose main focus is the traditional representation of the human figure and horses. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from SFSU, she moved to Europe where her fervor for classical sculpture began by having the opportunity to visit and study Europe’s best art collections. When she returned to the U.S., she pursued her classical sculpture training for 5 years with international Master Sculptor Harriet Moore, at her private atelier in San Francisco, CA.
Ms. Rodriguez's powerful style depicts a strong sense of movement, energy, and elegance that is easily recognized throughout her work. Most of her bronze sculptures are deliberately kept to “Limited Editions” of nine (9). Her horses have won "National Competitions" and "Best in Show Awards,” and her work can be found in private collections worldwide. She also collaborates with landscape architects, city planners and interior designers in creating original commissioned sculptures and outdoor fountains.
Author of “Methods and Measurement of The Human Skeletal System, an Artist's Perspective”, a 235 page book with over 180 original illustrations, is a must have for all artists interested in increasing their knowledge of the human figure skeletal system and relative proportions.
Juried in as a "Living Artist" by Artrenewal.org. Artrenewal is one of the most prestigious and selective site for "Accomplished Classical Artists" around the world.
Since 1996 Ms. Rodriguez has been sharing her knowledge and passion teaching "Classical Figure Sculpture Class with Professional Models" from her studio, and she offers sculpture workshops nationwide and gives private consultations and critique. She is repeatedly invited to give live sculpture demonstrations at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco, California. In addition to her passion for sculpture, Ms. Rodriguez offers commissioned true to life, hand-drawn family portraits.

"About Marilyn ... her carvings are reminiscent of Rodin but more sensitive, more tender, more fluid and lyrical ... they contain a marvelous and truly touching sense of pure spirit that she so ingeniously infuses into what was, before, mere innate matter."
Muldoon Elder - Vorpal Gallery Owner, San Francisco, CA
"Marilyn produces beautiful and carefully executed sculptures, full of movement, muscles flexing, even when still."
Elisabeth Cornu- Objects Conservator - Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, CA
"In the five years of sculpture studies with me she learned and developed extraordinarily quickly. She grasped the basic fundamental of anatomy and design of the figure and now has added her own style, imagination, and originality."
