This style of art is called a Bas-Relief, a two dimensional sculpture to be feature on a wall. Its depth is approximately 2" thick from its background. Intentionally made to look like an antique bas-relief. It’s elegant and raw. Variations in pigmentation, texture and wood frame are natural and part of its uniqueness. Guaranteed to become the focus point of any room.
Its exquisite frame is made of Walnut, with an Oak backing. The Walnut came from a 1800’s church in San Juan Bautista, CA. Even the original steel square nails were used in all 8 sides. I was inspired to sculpt this bas-relief based on the original three dimensional sculpture named also, "Battle of the Stallions".
